In this game, music guides the spirit to its ancestors. With each song, the spirit is able to release pain and grief in order to pass on from the World of the Living. Much like Guitar Hero, players' skills rely on matching music notes and tunes in order to pass through the challenges that lie ahead so they can continue safely on their journey.
Born from the same myth as our Scoarta Trecerii: Tapestry of Passing minigame, Sing for the Dead tells the journey of moving through limbo in order to find safe passage into the World of the Dead.
“The Great Passing myth explains the passing of the dead soul from the world of the living to the world of the dead, and the relatives of the deceased may help through various rituals, including sad songs. We learned about it from books, but even now some old women still tell this tale. It is a myth that also exists in various forms in our neighbouring countries.”

“The team was an ad-hoc one and now we have gone separate ways, but working on Sing for the Dead was a lot of fun. Most of us are based in Romania, but Oleksandra is from Ukraine. Romania sits between Western, Eastern and Southern Europe and while most of our neighbours are Slavic and we have a lot in common."
“We knew we wanted to make a game that involves music because we had Olexandra with us, and she is a good sound designer. Then we have chosen and adapted the Great Passing myth as we liked it and felt it worked with our idea of gameplay.”
