Such a pleasure to be back at AfroGames after our Game jam experience last December.
AfroGames is the first center for e-sport athletes in favelas in the world and is based in Vigario Geral in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
Last year we had a great time diving into Brazilian mythologies with a group of 20+ kids. They fully developed two mini-games based on these myths that are still available through google play. This time we hosted a workshop on 3d asset building and storytelling through objects. Vitor Milagres, a multimedia artist and digital world builder, introduced programs such as thinkercad and Blender and introduced concepts of storytelling through objects.
The participants learned how to programme the objects and place them within our very first 'World of Us' immersive digital world prototype and share stories about what they created.
